Trust Me !
Trust Me !
Sarah thought that it had been a bad day even if the girls appeared to consider it as the most enjoying day they ever had in their lives, but for Sarah, the only consolation was that next day could not be worse
As story writer I feel that it is my obligation to point out to readers that this is one of the few occasions in literature where you will find a woman being on the edge to admitting that she could be wrong. As story writer I do understand that Sarah is under great stress and cannot therefore be blamed for treason to what is best in womanhood, the conviction of being right.
So Sarah thought that next day could not be worse.
The Toddler toy or arm or whatever it was stayed under the bed, and they all went to bed.
They would all have gone to bed was it not for the fact that the girls Helene and Emma rested on their constitutional rights to have the story of the “Three Elephants rafting” read to them. The girls could not see that the fact that the book had been left at home in the rush, had any relevance on the application of their constitutional duties.
No “Three Elephants Rafting”
No Sleep
What was good about it was that the negotiating starting point was very clear. So was the threat of lock-out of sleep.
As story teller, may I request the gentlemen reading this very instructional material to remain seated and not rush to their library to consult their copy of “Negotiations for the Dummies”, kindly remember that this is a story about women?
Negotiations and women are to inseparable concepts.
You remember:
<<You eat the Apple or you will not get what you have been ogling at all the time; oh you are such a brave cuddly nice little darling, I would not know what I would do without you, you are so strong, I feel so secure with you >>
(the editor has cancelled the original line which read “I feel so secure when you do immediately everything I tell you to do). Should I mention that the editor is a woman or had you already guessed?
I cannot remember how this bit about apples got into the story which was about the Noodle War, but I will probably find out later.
So Sarah felt that there was only one thing to do: Give in immediately rather than later.
If gentlemen are still reading this book, may I advise them to listen carefully to the negotiation procedures used between three women; They will not understand anything but they will understand why they will never understand anything; And I wish my Editor would stop making obscene gestures with the ink deletion bottle.
Negotiations were launched.
I will tell the summary of the story and them we shall all of us have such a nice sleep and tomorrow morning we shall ask these funny men to go and get our book from home.
No
As Story Teller, I wish to underline the importance in negotiations not to use ambiguous language.
Well yes of course, mother's nice little girls want to have their three elephant friends with them here at night, why don't we pretend that the three elephants are there in the closet and that tomorrow when you brush your teeth, they will come out and they will be so happy to see you?
No
As story teller, should you use this material in your courses about “How to conduct Industrial Conflicts” I wish to underline the importance of seeing how the negotiation positions are progressing even while on the surface it may appear to be a dead-lock.
Of course Mothers-Nice -little -girls want to say good night to their friends and your dear Elephant friends want to say good night to their lovely little Helene and Emma, why don't we say that they are there outside the window and if we go to the window we cannot see them but we can guess that they are there and we can waive a nice friendly Good Night to them
No
As expert on Industrial Negotiations, I admit that at times I have felt that the parties were not making equal efforts to see the other's point of view, but I strongly advise future negotiators always to try and support the progresses that are being made.
Yes of course, how silly of Mother Sarah, why waive to the three Elephants if they cannot see you out there. Look what I have found, you see this, girls, this is a writing pad written in invisible ink, it is used only by elephants who go on rafting trips because they do not want other elephants to see their plans in advance. But when I was you age I learned like you to read invisible Elephant ink stories so now you are going to lie down and I will sit there and I will read the stories and you will know that the pictures of your friends are there but that you have to wait until you are a bit older to see yourself the Invisible Elephant Drawings?
No
As professional Negotiator, I can tell you that at this point I can feel that both parties have really made a big effort to accommodate the other's point of view and that a solution could be found.
Now you go to sleep and if I hear anything from you I will come and take away all your bedding and put you outside the house to sleep in the snow and rain, is that understood?
Good night Mummy
Good night who?
Good night beloved and dear and soft and the best of all mummies
Good night the most beautiful and strongest and cleverest girls in the world.
Well , as professional Industrial Negotiator, I must admit that one of the great difficulties encountered in my job is that you have a feeling at the end of the strike, that possibly the strike and lock-out where not totally necessary.
As story teller, it is my duty, however painful it is to go on with the story. While you readers can rest carefully and believe in a happy end, I am in the position of knowing the end of the story, and believe me, you do not want to exchange with me.
